Fresh, wild and ready-to-export Canadian seafood products

Sourcing and traceability

At Sea

Responsible Harvest

Catch from licensed vessels, with fishing zone, date, and species recorded whenever available.

Landing & Grading

First Quality Check

Product is landed, checked, graded, weighed and assigned a lot number that follows it through the plant.

Processing & Packing

Controlled Environment

In CFIA-inspected plants, product is cooked/processed/packed to spec, with lot code, plant ID and production date.

Cold Chain & Logistics

Documented Transport

Product stays in a controlled cold chain; we track shipping docs, pallets and container numbers for each movement.

Client Delivery & Transparency

Traceable Lots

Clients receive clearly lot-coded product and, on request, access to origin, process and QR/digital traceability.

Traceability – From Ocean to Plate

At Araqua Exports, every shipment is linked to a real place, real people, and a documented process. We work only with inspected plants and professional partners, and we track each lot from the moment it is landed to the moment it leaves the cold chain for our clients.

We summarize our traceability in 5 clear steps:

Step 1 – At Sea:

Responsible Harvest

Each lot starts with a licensed fishing vessel operating in a defined area and season.

For every catch, we record the species, fishing zone, date of harvest, and vessel identification wherever this information is available. This is the first link in the chain and the basis of our lot traceability.

Step 2 – Landing & Grading:

First Quality Check

When the catch is landed at the dock or plant, it is checked, graded, and weighed.

At this stage, the product is associated with a lot number that follows it through processing. Temperature and handling conditions are monitored according to plant procedures to protect freshness and food safety.

Step 3 – Processing & Packing:

Controlled Environment

In CFIA-inspected facilities operating under HACCP/QMP programs, the product is cooked, processed, or packed according to the client’s specifications (format, size, glazing, packaging).

Each production run is tied to its lot code, production date, and plant ID, so we can trace any box back to its origin and processing conditions.

Step 4 – Cold Chain & Logistics:

Documented Movement

From the plant to the final destination, the product stays in a controlled cold chain (refrigerated or frozen transport, cold storage if needed).

We work with recognized logistics partners and keep a record of shipping documents, pallets, and container numbers. This allows us to follow the product along each transfer and provide proof of temperature-controlled handling when required.

Step 5 – Client Delivery & Transparency:

Traceable Lots

At delivery, each client receives product that is clearly lot-coded and documented. On request, we provide:

  • Lot numbers and production dates
  • Origin (country/region, fishery where available)
  • Plant information and basic process details

For selected programs, this information can be accessed through a QR code or digital document, making it easier for distributors, retailers, chefs, auditors, and end consumers to verify the path of the product.

Our goal is simple: a clean, honest chain of responsibility from boat to box, so our partners know what they are buying and who stands behind it.
